The Gospel of Christ is the instrument of leadership; preach the Gospel consistently – Bishop Baba charges as CAN prepares for election

The Anglican Bishop of Zaria Most Rev Ishaya Baba has called on the incoming leaders of Christian Association of Nigeria (CAN), Sabon Gari Branch to make the Good News of Jesus the bedrock of their administration. He made this call at Rehoboth Christian Assembly (RCA), Samaru Zaria venue of End of Tenure Thanksgiving of CAN Executives which took place on Sunday, 28th January 2024.
Speaking on the topic, ‘Ingredients for Effective Christian Leadership Matt. 4,’ Bishop Baba itemized leading by the Gospel proclamation; leaving familiar environment; learning the life of Christ and His pattern of ministry; and living a life of impact in one’s world as some of the ways to achieve the desired results.
He said, “The Gospel of Christ is the means and instrument of leadership. You must concentrate on preaching the Gospel and by consistent preaching of the Gospel, you will win the hearts of the people; souls will be saved and established in the Kingdom of God. The primary responsibility of a Christian leader is to be with Jesus and to learn His life. Sit as He teaches His Gospel. This is how we can lead. Many of us would not have been where we are today if we had not left our villages. Jesus had to leave His hometown in order to make impact. You must leave familiar environment. Some of us may not want to leave but you must be rejected. Jesus has left you in your world to make impact. Zaria is our world. Zaria is our Jerusalem. Anywhere you find yourself is your world. Do not say, ‘I have no power.’ You have been appointed.”
