The Onitsha Archdiocesan Chancellor,Very Rev Fr Dr Prudentius Emeka Aroh recently received a new set of seminarians to take over from the out going ones who have completed their apostolic work in various departments of the Archdiocese.
The event which started with a Holy Mass at the old church building,Basilica of the Most Holy Trinity,Onitsha,attracted priests and staff of the Archdiocesan Secretariat,waterside,Onitsha.
In his homily,priest of the Archdiocese and Assistant Secretary to the Archbishop,Rev Fr Kingsley Omenyi,said it was a thing of joy for the seminarians to complete their apostolic work successfully after serving in various departments of the Archdiocese.He wished them well in their future endeavors even as he pointed out that some of them may no longer wish to continue in their journey to priesthood.He advised them to always seek positive ways of advancing their future by adopting secrets of success which he enumerated.
While amplifying the homily,the Chancellor of the Archdiocese,Very Rev Fr Dr Emeka Aroh listed five secrets of success to include;being positive and seeing the right side of life,finding a solution to a problem and delayed gratification.
Others are,being patient,as success takes time and above all,committing everything to prayers.
He urged the outgoing seminarians to take life easy while going out to the wider world and wished them well.
The Chancellor also welcomed the incoming seminarians to the fold and assured them of the cooperation of all while discharging their duties even as he cautioned that indolence would not be tolerated as he wanted the prevailing happiness at the Secretariat to be infectious.
In his remarks,the Onitsha Archdiocesan Director of Social Communications,Very Rev Fr Dr George Adimike told the incoming and out-going seminarians to count themselves lucky to be among those posted for their Apostolic work and supervised by the Chancellor.According to him,Fr Aroh is not only efficient and has a lot to offer but one one of the leading stars in the Archdiocese.”I learnt a lot from him when I was a seminarian and I assure you all that you will be as great as he is if you conduct yourselves responsibly”,Fr Adimike assured.
Highlight on the occassion include presentation of gifts to the outgoing seminarians,reading of the farewell address,group photographs and entertainment.
