Sequel to rising rate of deflection to peganism by Christians, mothers have been advised to champion evangelisation and preach the gospel in their homes.
The parish CWO president of Immaculate Heart parish Fegge Onitsha Hon. Iyom Nnedimma Ndukamma gave the advice during an event to host the Chief Shepherd of Onitsha Archdiocese Most Rev Valerian Okeke at their Parish.
Hon Nnedimma while expressing worry that good number of Christians are leaving the church for practice of peganism, stated that it is time mothers should become gospel preachers in their homes in order to stem the tide. According to her, some youth are no longer interested in coming to church to listen to the word of God, a situation that calls for a paradigm shift where parents should take up the responsibility of preaching the gospel in their homes.
She posited that if parents fail in this aspect, their wards who not are strong in faith will abandon the Catholic faith and start worshipping false gods in search for money and human needs.
Parents she said should not fold their hands, watch their children go astray rather become a preacher and a prayer warrior in your family so that your children will have no reason to go into idol worshipping.
