A member of Fellowship of Catholic Postgraduate Students (FCPS), Our Lady Queen of Peace Parish, Ahmadu Bello University, Zaria, Sis Blessing Aruya has charged members of the association to connect to God in a special way through songs of worship. Giving the charge at the group’s fellowship of Tuesday, 8th April 2025, the speaker catechized that worship is a form of prayer through which God communicates with the worshipper.
She dissuaded them from giving up on worship for any reason, intimating that the God knows their predicaments already and that He can address them when they worship Him in spirit and in truth, as was the case with Paul and Silas in the prison.
“Worship to God is a prayer made to Him” She catechized. “It is an avenue for you to speak to Him. Listen to Him when you worship Him because He can speak to you through songs of worship,, praises, and psalms. Be open with Him. Let God arise in your worship.”
“There is joy in worshipping God. Do not let the devil steal your joy. Do not get to a point where you have any reason not to worship God. Even when you do not feel like it, worship God. Let your spirit and your mind connect with God as you sing to Him. This is a thing of the spirit.”
“Paul and Silas were in prison but chose to sing praises and the God of heaven arose and rescued them. The same thing can happen to us. Praise God in every situation you find yourself. He is all knowing. He knows everything you are going through. He knows what you want from Him. Worship Him and allow His will to be done in your life.”
