The Federal house member Hon Uche Okonkwo last Sunday pledged to provide more solar powered boreholes in Idemili North and South federal constituency.
The lawmaker made the pledge during his speech at the commissioning of solar powered water borehole at Nnobi donated by Sir Pius Ufudo foundation.
According to him, every ward in his constituency needed a good water borehole for easy accessibility of clean water. He thanked individuals like Chief Obinna Ufudo led foundation and others who have set the ball rolling by providing Solar powered water boreholes to their communities, describing it as gestures geared towards community development.
He promised to provide more three solar powered water boreholes for the Ifite Nnobi people, as a support to Sir Ufudo foundation.
It will be recalled that the legislator recently commissioned a new Constituency office.
During the commissioning he highlighted some of his feats which include training and empowering of Idemili women and youth on renewable energy, purchasing of JAMB forms for over 200 Idemili North and South students, commencement of light up Idemili project with Solar powered street lights which are currently being installed at strategic places in Idemili community markets, donation of shuttle bus to Idemili South LGA to ease transportation challenges, sharing of food materials including four thousand bags of rice to constituents during last Christmas among other things.
Speaking on his legislative work, he disclosed the substantive bills he sponsored which have passed the first reading and they include Federal college of Entrepreneurship and skill acquisition, Ogidi, Anambra state, Federal Medical center Act, Awka Etiti, Federal Polytechnic Act Oba, Nigerian police training college Umuoji and others.
He urged the constituents to always make use of the Constituency office as that provides then an easy access to communicate him and the federal government on issues that needed an urgent attention and solution.
