In a groundbreaking move, Governor Chukwuma Soludo of Anambra State has not only defied geographical constraints but has also pledged a comprehensive transformation for the once-considered “unreachable” Olumbanasa community in the Anambra West Local Government Area. The governor’s visit, facilitated by navigating the challenging waters of the River Niger, signifies a historic moment that underscores his commitment to inclusive governance.
Governor Soludo, accompanied by the Catholic Bishop of Aguleri, Denis Isizoh, expressed profound emotions on his Facebook page, describing the journey as a testament to his unwavering dedication to reaching every corner of Anambra State. The symbolic nature of the visit goes beyond breaking accessibility barriers; it reflects a commitment to understanding the daily lives of the people he serves.
Addressing the once-inaccessible Olumbanasa, Governor Soludo acknowledged the community’s faith and trust in his leadership as the driving force behind its newfound accessibility. This unprecedented visit, a first by any Anambra State governor, marks a turning point in the region’s development.
During his campaign, Governor Soludo specifically addressed the challenges faced by Anambra West, particularly the lack of a navigable access road to the headquarters. The governor revealed that significant progress is underway, with the headquarters undergoing a comprehensive transformation and the construction of the once impassable road in progress—a tangible fulfillment of a promise made to the people during the campaign.
Governor Soludo’s commitment to Olumbanasa extends beyond physical infrastructure. He emphasized the importance of enduring peace and pledged to establish a dedicated primary health center in the region, powered by solar energy. The governor’s plans include illuminating the lives of the residents with solar lighting, providing access to clean water through boreholes, and revitalizing educational institutions.
The governor reiterated his vision of bringing solace to the distressed and being a beacon of hope for the downtrodden. Under the guiding principle of ‘One Anambra, One People, One Agenda,’ Governor Soludo aims to foster unity and development throughout the state.
As Governor Soludo continues to prioritize previously marginalized communities, the Olumbanasa transformation serves as a beacon of hope and a testament to the governor’s commitment to inclusive and impactful governance in Anambra State.
