The Parish Priest of Immaculate of Mary Parish Fegge Onitsha, Rev Fr Sampson Ogbuebuna has blamed family crisis on non-existing or faulty family mission and vision. The priest who made this known in the parish on Wednesday, March 20, 2024 maintained that God did not create anyone or any family without talents.
He explained that it is one’s attitude towards the given talents that determines their successes or failures.“Every family must have a definite mission.” He taught. “Since the beginning of creation, God does not create anyone without a talent. God did not institute any family to suffer or remain in poverty.
It is our attitude towards the gift of God that changes the direction. So we need to understand our family mission and vision but there must be an action plan to achieve the set goals. Mission is your set goals while vision is the ways of achieving the goal.
The mission of Jesus on earth was to save us. Then He fulfilled His mission by preaching, teaching and through other ways. Satan has no power over any family that addresses her mission and vision well because a well-defined mission must consider the grace of God.
Every family ought to have their economy just as Nigeria has her economy. But we cannot talk about this economy with thinking about production, labour, division of labour, and decision making. Parents have the responsibility of training their children well. They have the responsibility of providing for their children. Children have their responsibilities too.
Any family that handles these responsibilities well is sure to succeed. Life is difficult for a family that has no mission and vision, yet many families blame their challenges on enemies and ancestral curses. Let us look into the mission and vision of our families.”Fr Ogbuebuna reminded them that the family is the first and the foremost influence in the Church and every other place. He then charged them to take the right steps and correct mistakes of the past, because, “A family mission and vision affect their future.”
