Members of Catholic Men Organization of Nigeria (CMO) St Anthony’s parish Nkpor last Sunday, November 12, ended their 2023 convention.
Speaking at the event, the parish priest Rev Fr Tony Chukwu enjoined CMO members to remain committed to their call as fathers, live exemplary life which their children can imitate and shun any forn of idolatry. He also congratulated the newly elevated members and advised them to see the honour as a call to evangelize and support the church in a unique way.
The annual event witnessed elevation of some members to the position of prestigious fathers ‘ Nna di ebube’ .
The parish CMO president Atanatius Nnabugo Agubata who spoke to Trinitas, congratulated the newly elevated fathers, describing the honour as a call to live a holy and godly life. He charged them to use their life to transform the society.
Also speaking, a member Mr John Iwuanyanwu felicitated the newly elevated members. He recalled that he was the one who initiated the ‘Nnadiebube’ honours being giving by CMO 15 years ago, describing it as a strategy to reward committed fathers and bring them closer to Christ. The planning committee chairman Emma Sunday Maduka in his contribution charged the newly elevated members to sustain the light of faith and never allow it go off.
One of the newly elevated member who is also the parish catechist Mr Innocent Obidike in his remarks, expressed joy over the recognition bestowed on him, stating that it has motivated him to redouble his efforts in God’s vineyard.
Chief Aloysius Ezechukwu( traditional ruler of the parish) who spoke to Trinitas also congratulated the newly elevated members. He charged fellow parishioners to persevere in faith and keep hope alive not withstanding the hard economy challenging the poor masses. Igwe Ezechukwu at the same event officially cut the 2023 new yarm .
Earlier in the Mass that kick started the event, Fr Chukwu urged Christians to ensure the spirit of God lives in them and always be guided by the same spirit, adding that once you lack the spirit of God, you start worshipping your fellow humanbeing or even devil. “Evangelise your self and work out your salvation because, not everything one can do for you in order to make heaven”, he added.
