It was a joyous occasion penultimate Saturday October 28, 2023 as members of Dunukofia regional catechist association was inaugurated.
The inauguration witnessed the first catechist day celebration and outing ceremony of Igba Umuchukwu cultural dance.
The Director of catechesis Archdiocese of Onitsha, Very Rev Fr. Dr. Jude Mgbobukwa and the regional Chaplain Rev Fr. Anthony P. Chukwu in their similar messages congratulated the region over the inauguration and urged them to remain committed to their primary assignment.
The regional president Catechist Fredrick Ekenwosi who spoke to Trinitas described the event as an effort to unit the regional catechists . He urged fellow catechists to persevere all the time and face their apostolate with sincerity of purpose.
Also the local organising chairman for the event Catechist Ferdinand Mary in his remarks congratulated fellow regional catechists. He also thanked the Archdiocesan director Fr Mgbeobukwa, the regional chaplain Fr Chukwu, the Archdiocesan president Catechist Matthew Thomas for their supports and for gracing the event.
Catechist Innocent Obidike of St Anthony’s of Padua parish Nkpor who is also the Vice president of Onitsha provincial catechist in his contribution said he was elated over the inauguration. He felicitated the Chief Shepherd of Onitsha Archdiocese His Grace Most Rev Valerian Okeke who clocked 70 recently, praying God to continue to strengthen him for more active years to come.
