Members of Catholic Charismatic Renewal Nnobi Region, Onitsha Archdiocese last Saturday ended their their 21 days prayer programme.
The event which took place at Holy Family Parish Umuoji witnessed large turn out of members who participated in the prayer session.
Preaching at the Holy Mass, Rev Fr Francis Nnoruka advised Christians to shun practising neo- paganism but remain firm in faith no matter the situation. According to him, every good thing comes from the Lord and when we worship Him with all sincerity of heart, we will stand to receive every favour we may be asking for. He frowned at the rate Christians are tuning away from Christ and end up in worshipping devil, consulting watch craft doctors and so on. He described such steps as movement into perpetual bondage.
The chairman Catholic Charismatic Renewal Nnobi Region, Comrade Ikechukwu Onyekwere who spoke to Trinitas correspondent expressed joy over the successful 21 days prayers programme. “This year prayer, we asked God to intervene and rescue Nigerian masses from hardship and insecurity challenging their existence.”
The chairman further called on Nigerians especially the Igbos to keep hope alive and continue trusting in God, adding that it is only God can free the masses from hardship. “It is expected that Christians should redouble their prayers now in order to bring the desired change citizens are yearning for,” he explained.
He thanked Rev Fr John Nnaemeka ( Chaplain of the region ) for his spiritual guide and assistance that are helping the members to grow spiritually, describing him as a great motivator.
