Faithful of the Catholic Diocese of Zaria have been urged to join the bandwagon of Gospel promoters, so that the Message of the Gospel may reach the ends of the earth. The Local Ordinary of the diocese, Most Rev. Dr. Habila Tyiakonaboi Daboh gave the task, referencing Paul and Barnabas, who chose to spread the Good News of the Lord, against all odds. He detailed how both men, who were persecuted for their faith remained steadfast, even if it meant losing their lives – a decision that contributed greatly to the expansion of the Gospel.
His Lordship catechized that though the opposition against them was fierce, God raised Gamalia, to speak in their favour, by telling them to let the two be, because if their message is from God, they cannot be stopped. He then nudged the faithful to emulate both publicists, because the God of the Word will sustain them too.
“Paul and Barnabas went to places and evangelized.” The bishop cited. “They went from village to village telling people about Jesus and that is our mission. That is what we all are called to do. The Word of God must reach the ends of the earth. They wanted to stop the apostles, but because they knew that they were doing the right thing, they continued. It was not a caricature of anything. It was God really doing what He was doing among them.”
