The Parish Priest of St Mary’s Catholic Church Samaru, Rev Fr Augustine Isek dwelt on the topic: ‘The Word as the principal key’, in teaching that every word is capable of taking flesh. Taking the stand in his parish on Tuesday, 12th March 2024, he charged the faithful not to take any word for granted for their own good.“Every word you speak takes a life of its own.” He told them.
“Every word you speak will either make a way for you or close it against you. Some people are suffering today because of words that were spoken ten years ago.
Words are realities in the realm of the spirit. Every manifestation you see here on earth is a product of a word. Nothing was created without a word. At the beginning of creation, God spoke a word and the material world appeared. There are no empty words.
The problem is not the word but how you receive it. The word cannot be an encounter until you believe it. It was Mary’s ‘yes’ that made the Word take flesh. Do not take any word for granted! On familiarity, Fr Isek told them not to get too used to God or His vessels so that they do not lose their blessings. “Familiarity breeches encounter. You need to come into the Presence of God as if you have never been there before, then your encounter and your visitation will be more meaningful.
No matter how much you receive the Holy Communion, never get used to it. Always approach God with respect.” He added.
