The Catholic Bishop of Zaria, Most Rev Dr Habila Tyiakonaboi Daboh has made his first pastoral visit after his ordination and installation as the second bishop of the diocese on Thursday, 14th December 2024.
Bishop Daboh was at St Benedict Catholic Chaplaincy, Depot Nigeria Army Chindit Cantonment Zaria on Sunday, 11th February 2024 for the visit where he blessed the altar which was rebuilt by the Chaplain, Rev Fr (Maj.) John Iyoghiogie; confirmed one hundred and eighteen candidates from St Benedict, St John Catholic Chaplaincy Bassawa Zaria, and St Peter Catholic Chaplaincy Jaji; and commissioned the newly built rectory.
The bishop who disclosed that he was happy to be in their midst thanked the military for the warm reception given to him; the priest and parishioners for organizing the visit; and the confirmed for making themselves available for the reception of the Sacrament.
He then charged the confirmed to cooperate with the Holy Spirit in their lives at all times.Drawing his message from the Gospel, he called on the faithful to, “let our love for each other be from the heart. Jesus He healed the leper. We too we have the capacity to heal not – just physical healing. When we visit the sick we heal them.
When we help those who are in need we heal them. When we pray for those who do not have anybody to pray for them, we heal them. That is what God wants us to do.”
