The senator representing Anambra central senatorial district Senator Victor Umeh ( Ohamadike) on Sunday, April 7,2024 honoured with a prestigious award by Onitsha Archdiocesan Divine Mercy group.
The award presentation was done during the celebration of this year Divine Mercy Sunday at the Basilica square Onitsha.
The group while presenting the merit award to Senator Umeh, described him as strong devotee of divine mercy who supports the group regularly.
Senator Umeh who was represented at the event by one of his aids Mr Patrick Akpuogwu in a speech described the award as an encouragement and an honour, stating that he has been inspired to redouble his commitment to the divine mercy group and humanity.
Mr Akpuogwu speaking on his own capacity congratulated Sen. Umeh over the award, describing him as good man who doesn’t toy with his faith, especially his devotion to Divine Mercy prayers to the extend that he use to excuse himself during Senate sitting once it is three o’clock just to say the divine mercy prayers.
He further described the senator as a man of faith whose life of charity has touched so many within and outside his Constituency.
“Earl January this year, Sen. Umeh shared fifteen thousand bags of rice to the people of Anambra central senatorial district. He also awarded scholarship to three hundred students, a gesture that is unprecedented in our time.”
