Past and present governors of Enugu State, Nigeria Ambassadors to foreign countries, such as Ambassador Lawrence Agubuzu, Ambassador Bianca Ojukwu, many professionals in various fields, and people of all sorts, recently converge at Late Ozo Aganigbo Nwankwo’s compound in Iheagu Obunagu, Amankwo village, in Eke town in Udi LGA of Enugu State, during the burial ceremony of late Nono Pauline Nkweye Nwankwo, mother of Very Rev. Fr. Dr. Nnamdi Nwankwo, who is Rector, Enugu State Polytechnic (ESPOLY), Iwollo Town, Ezeagu LGA of the State. The deceased was also the mother of Rev. Sr. Rachael Nwankwo of the congregation of missionary sisters of the Holy Rosary. As it is now tradition in Enugu Diocese, after the initial greeting of mass, the Parish Priest of St. Paul Ancient Parish, Eke Town, Rev. Fr. Emmanuel Okwor, welcomed the Bishop, his entourage and parishioner from various parishes. In his opening remarks during the funeral mass, the catholic Bishop of Enugu Diocese, His Lordship Most Rev. Dr. CVC Onaga, describe late Nono Nwankwo as a woman with indelible records of integrity. Delivering sermon in the funeral mass, Very Rev. Fr. Victor Eze, said late mama was a committed catholic and a dedicated house wife. A woman of virtue whose life was committed to service of God and humanity. In the commendation prayer, (handling the soul over to God) the vicar general of the Diocese, Very Rev. Msgr. Geoffrey Aguigwo, prayed thus: may God Almighty grant your soul peaceful rest and admit you into his heavenly kingdom. In the family vote of thanks, the oldest son of the deceased, Mr. Ilo Nwankwo paid glowing tributes to people from far and near; while Rev. Sr. Nwankwo, commended all the religious women in attendance. In addition, Dr. Nwankwo thanked Bishop Onaga, Bishop Obodo, Bishop Onah of nsukka Diocese, and Bishop Okoye of Awgu Diocese for their solidarity. At the graveside, Very Rev. Fr. Dr. Nwankwo and Rev. Fr. Simon Onyia in one of their separate prayers, prayed thus; show your mercy to our departed sister, Pauline Nwankwo, since she strove to do your will, let her not be punished for wrong doing.
