The Parish Priest of Our Lady Queen of Peace Parish, Ahmadu Bello University Zaria Rev Fr Sebastian Vincent has explained that there are times when one may be left all alone to address their problems in life tasking the faithful to emulate Job in the first reading, Job 7:1-4,6-7 in proclaiming faith in the face of difficult moments.
The priest, who took this stand at a Mass in the parish, Sunday 4th February, 2024 acknowledged that everyone has one problem or the other though the challenges differ in degree even as he charged them not to judge others until they must have walked in their shoes because they may not know what they are going through.“There are times nobody will do it for you.” The clergyman told them. “There are times you will do it for yourself. Job proclaimed faith in the face of difficult circumstances.
We too must learn to proclaim faith in face of difficult circumstances. Speak faith upon your life. Be full of faith. Be full of hope. Your belief in God and your hope in God will never fail you. There are times you go through a particular challenge in life and the night seems very long. That is when you are supposed to trust God the more. That is when you are to search for your last breath and strength and hang in there. ‘I know My Redeemer lives’ means encouraging yourself.
It means sparking that light for yourself and tapping yourself on the shoulder and saying, ‘I can do it,’”Fr Vincent tasked them to start proclaiming their faith in the face of their challenging by thanking God for their lives so that they may have a ray of hope. “You must be alive to complain. Search for one reason or the other to be thankful. If you find nothing at all, thank God that you are alive. You can begin from there and things will turn around for you.” He told them.
