The Chancellor Onitsha Archdiocese Very Rev Fr Prudentus Aroh last Sunday called on christians to form the habit of keeping God’s commandments not withstanding the challenges one is facing in life.
Fr Aroh gave the advice while preaching Sunday Homily during a pastoral visit to Holy Family parish, Akuzor Nkpor.
He explained that anyone who is keeping God’s commandments will continue to enjoy God’s endless favours and protection.
His words: “When you keep God’s commandments with all sincerity, He will also protect you and shield you from every danger.
At this lenten season, we must always reject satan by shunning sin. Make a fresh convenant with God and strive to keep His commandment. Don’t take God’s love for granted and stop desecrating your body because it is the temple of the Holy spirit. Once you abandons the commandment of God, you run into the hands of enemies,” he explained.
Speaking on the gains of attending Holy Mass, the Chancellor described it as the highest prayer one can offer to God. He regretted that most Catholics goes empty handed after attending Holy Mass because they were not in the right state of mind and they lacked true repentance. ” For you to tap from the blessings of the Holy Mass, you must repent of your sins and be in good relationship with God. Holy Mass is re-enactement of the calvary event”, he disclosed.
