Dean of Samaru Deanery of the Catholic Diocese of Zaria, Very Rev Fr Peter Bauna Tanko has lauded Christian fathers for creating conducive atmosphere in their families.
Taking this stand at the Mass he celebrated for fathers in Our Lady Queen of Peace Parish, Ahmadu Bello University, Zaria on Sunday 5th May 2024, he encouraged them to maintain the attitude with Christian love in mind so that their wives and children may continue to discharge their duties effectively“Today we are celebrating our brothers here, the men.” The clergyman said.
“Out of Christian love, most of you fathers do your best to create an enabling environment for your wives and children to live peacefully and to grow in the family. You create an enabling environment in the home so that wives can perform their activities optimally.
So I say to all of you fathers, continue to do your best out of Christian love, for mothers to perform optimally. Create that enabling environment for your children to grow in the spirit of love, in the practice of love.”
Fr Tanko asserted that everyone has their roles to play in the family, tasking them to love and support one another as Jesus commanded them in the day’s Gospel. He also acknowledged the sacrifices of mothers in their homes, pinpointing that, “They do it more consistently and more faithfully than any other group of people in the society.”
