In a solemn and spiritually uplifting ceremony, Rev. Fr. George Adimike presided over the Eucharistic Celebration marking the feast of St. John Bosco at St. John Bosco Institute of Technology and Don Bosco Secondary School, Obosi. The event, held at the invitation of the St. John Bosco Community, brought together students, staff, and members of the Salesian family in a moment of faith, thanksgiving, and renewal.
Fr. Adimike, a renowned theologian, writer, and Catholic priest of the Archdiocese of Onitsha, delivered a deeply inspiring homily, reflecting on the life and mission of St. John Bosco, the revered founder of the Salesians and patron saint of youth and education. Drawing from his extensive knowledge of Church teachings and pastoral experience, he emphasized the importance of holistic education, moral formation, and the need for young people to cultivate virtues that align with their faith and future aspirations.
Fr. Adimike, known for his eloquence and intellectual depth, urged the students to embody the values of discipline, perseverance, and selflessness that characterized St. John Bosco’s ministry. He also highlighted the role of Catholic education in shaping responsible and God-fearing individuals who can contribute positively to society.
The feast of St. John Bosco is particularly significant to the students and faculty of Don Bosco institutions, as it serves as a reminder of their mission to uphold Catholic values while excelling in their studies and vocational pursuits. The celebration concluded with prayers for the continued success of the institution and the grace of God upon all those dedicated to the formation of young people in the Salesian tradition.
As a respected voice in Catholic intellectual circles and an advocate for youth empowerment, Fr. George Adimike’s role in the celebration was a source of joy and served as a significant learning phase for the entire institution. He also inspired the next generation to live out their faith with purpose and conviction.
