It was a celebration galore at Holy Family parish Umuoji last Sunday April 28, 2024 when the catechist of the Parish Mr Michael C. Ejiofor and wife Josephine celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary.
The golden jubilee celebration attracted guests from far and near.
In his homily during a holy Mass that Kick-started the event, Fr Gab Anochilionye enjoined married people to always sustain the love that brought them as couples, stating that they can achieve that through tolerance, total trust in God, and heart of forgiveness and being prayerful, positing that with these virtues, any marriage can last as long as the husband and wife live. He made it clear that no marriage can function very well without constant prayers and devotion to God who instituted marriage. He congratulated the couple, enjoining them to continue to hold tenaciously to God for more years to come.
The Parish priest Fr Mike Chika also congratulated the couple, urging them to continue to sustain those virtues that brought their marriage this far.
Other parishioners who spoke to the press felicitated the celebrants, describing their marriage as an exemplary one.
The jubilarians Catechist Ejiofor and wife who spoke to Trinitas expressed great joy over the event. They extolled the Parish priest Fr Chika for his huge support that made the celebration a reality and a success. The couple also thanked the oarishioners and friends for their individual prayers and support, praying God to reward and bless them.
Catechist Ejiofor in a separate interview with Trinitas Newspaper reminded fellow married people to keep tolerating their spouses, placing God and love at the center of their marriage and strengthening the foundation of their marriage with constant prayers as that remain the secrets of what sustained and oiled their marriage for the past fifty years.
