The priest in charge of Immaculate Hearth Parish,Fegge Onitsha,Very Rev Fr Sampson Ogbuebuna has urged Catholic knights to pay the dues of their faith by doing those things deserving of true knights of the church.
Fr Ogbuebuna spoke as he delivered a sermon during a thanksgiving mass by the knights and ladies of St Mulumba,St Michael Subcouncil,Fegge,Onitsha,who came to express gratitude to God for the successful conclusion of the Subcouncil’s Annual Retreat (2024).
According to Fr Ogbuebuna,the dues may not necessarily be money but those things the faithful are expected to do as good christians,in and out of season.
Such dues he pointed out include showing love to our neighbors, commitment to prayers,doing charity works and corporal works of mercy.
“As priests,we pay our dues by carrying out our obligations to the faithful for the good of the church and society”.Fr Ogbuebuna added.
Later in his remarks,the Grand Knight of the Subcouncil,Sir (Barr) Charles Orakwue commended Fr Sampson Ogbuebuna for his good attributes and his cordial relationship with the knights of St Mulumba,St Michael Subcouncil.
Sir Orakwue also expressed gratitude to the Chaplain of the Subcouncil Rev Fr Clement Obi,for facilitating and coordinating the Subcouncil’s retreat with a lecture titled,”Fortitude and perseverance amongst Cardinal Christian virtues.
In appreciation and thanksgiving,the Subcouncil made a modest financial donation in support of the parish project.
