On Sunday, September 1st, 2024, Archbishop Valerian M. Okeke commemorated the 21st anniversary of his incumbency as the Archbishop of Onitsha and Metropolitan of the Onitsha Ecclesiastical Province. The occasion coincided with the start of a new month, marking a significant milestone in his spiritual leadership.
In a reflection made on his social media platforms and addressed to the faithful, Archbishop Valerian Okeke emphasized the importance of true religion, urging the faithful to ground their faith in the living Word of God. He highlighted that true worship begins with the recognition of the unique privilege bestowed upon believers—to be specially chosen, loved, and endowed with the mission to bear witness to God’s goodness in creation.
Archbishop Valerian Okeke further underlined that those who live by God’s Word experience an abundant life, free from anxiety and steadfast in their faith. Such individuals, he noted, are not easily swayed by false prophets or harmful influences.
Reflecting on his two decades of service, the Archbishop expressed deep gratitude to God for entrusting him with the care of the flock in the Archdiocese. He also extended heartfelt thanks to the faithful for their powerful support and goodwill throughout the years.
The Archbishop concluded his message by invoking God’s blessings upon the people, wishing them a happy Sunday and a blessed new month.
