The year is running fast. Many things have troubled our hearts. Nigeria has faced storms. Families have faced struggles. People are worrying about tomorrow. But the Church, like a loving mother, invites us now to pause… to breathe… and to begin again.
This Sunday is the First Sunday of Advent. It is the beginning of that beautiful season that prepares us for the coming of Jesus Christ. Advent is a season of hope. A season of light. A season that reminds us that no matter how dark the world becomes, God is never far away.
Advent teaches us to watch. To pray. To open our hearts. It reminds us that Christ comes to us every day — in the poor, in our families, in our prayers, and in the quiet moments when we choose peace over anger, forgiveness over bitterness.
This year, let us enter Advent with deeper faith. Let us light our candles with joy. Let us gather as families to pray again. Let us return to Mass with renewed commitment.
