Christians have been advised to to pray without ceasing since a prayerful Christian is a powerful child of God.
Fr Tochukwu Nwafor gave the advice while preaching a homily during a Sunday Mass at St Paul’s Catholic Church Ideani.
According to him, prayer is very necessary in the life of Christians, explaining that when one is taking a race without God, your end will be a disaster. ” If you are removed from Christ, you are gone forever”.
Quoting St Paul, he emphasised the need to live by the Spirit of God and not for the flesh, stating those who are living on the flesh cannot pray very well.
He encouraged faithful to always ensure that they are being possessed by the Holy Spirit. His words, ” If you are not possessed by Spirit of God, you can’t be able dispense justice, happiness or bring peace to the world and cannot speak words of encouragement.
Those who are possessed by the Holy Spirit cannot commit crimes or speak evil and unwholesome words.”
Fr Nwafor further outlined four ways Christians can go to Jesus which include Prayers, allowing God’s Spirit to dwell in us, being charitable and meeting Jesus at the Blessed Sacrament.
