The federal member, representing Idemili North and South federal constituency Abuja, Hon. Uche Harris Okonkwo, has Organised a six days training programm aimed at empowering over thirty women and youths on renewable energy.
Trinitas learnt that the programme was anchored by Bonita Bay Limited in collaboration with the Energy Commission of Nigerian Renewable Energy.
In his speech shortly before the commencement of the programme, the house member who is also the facilitator, stated that the workshop is part of his efforts to fulfill his campaign promises regarding climate change and the sustainability of our environment.
He emphasized that climate change is a global issue, and it’s crucial for our women and youths to be well-informed about renewable energies and it advantages to average Citizens.
Hon Okonkwo who was represented by a Labour Party stalwart and Woman Leader in Idemili South ,Chief Mrs Florence Ejiofor disclosed that he kicked off with Idemili South, with over thirty participants, pledging to extend same to North in no distance time and wish them a blissful training.
Hon Okonkwo, maintained that the ongoing training will help to alleviate the current economic hardship in the country ,since according to him ,many will be self employed at the end of the training because it involves learning other skill acquisitions.
Expressing their joy, some of the participants, to includes Mrs. Oguchukwu Ejiofor , from Ojoto ward, Mrs Nkiru Echemunor from Nnobi ward one and Mrs Maryann Chikodili from Alor ward two, thanked, Hon Okonkwo for having attracted Bonita Bay Limited and the Energy Commission of Nigeria for the resourceful training.
The trio further appreciated him for his bonavelence and magnanimity towards his constituents and sponsoring the training, noting that the equipments and capital provided to them after the training would help them implement what they have learned.
The event featured training proper, lectures from experts, distribution of equipments and gifts to over thirty participants.
