The President, Catholic Men’s Organization, CMO, Diocese of Awka, Sir Joseph Chukwujekwu Onuegbu, has advised Nigerians to return to farming to curtail the lingering and steady increase in the cost of food items in the country.
The president who gave the advice in a press interview recently in Awka, expressed disgust at the current food crisis and the nation’s political leaders’ failure to live up to expectations.
Sir Onuegbu said, ‘We’re not happy about this situation, but I advise people to go back to farming.
‘Again, any money you have now is useless if you don’t put it into something.
‘So, if you’ve money in the bank now, go and withdraw it; use it to purchase food items and keep because things are going to be worse than it’s now,’ he said.
The CMO helmsman blamed the situation on the nation’s political leaders whom he reminded of the Law of Karma.
‘The political leaders should search their conscience. They should understand that whatever you do in this world, there must be a repercussion.
‘This is why after they pass away, their children don’t make use of the (public) resources they misappropriated. So, my advice is that they should search their conscience.
‘If they know the good they want to be done to them, let them begin to do it to the people whom they’re serving. We’ve the Law of Karma,’ he said.
