The Igwe and traditional ruler of Eziowelle town in Idemili North Local Government Area of Anambra State and rightful owner of property situated at No 37 Limca Road,Obosi,Igwe Michael Okonkwo Etusi(Owelle of Eziowelle),has warned former tenants of the property and members of the general public to refrain from making “slanderous attacks” on the Catholic Archdiocese of Onitsha concerning his choice to lease the aforementioned property to the Catholic Archdiocese of Onitsha.
In a statement released from his palace dated 9th February 2026,Igwe Etusi cautioned his former tenants and the general public not to engage in any action that may disrupt the peaceful use of the premises for it’s new purpose.
According to the statement,the purpose of the lease was to enable the Catholic Archdiocese of Onitsha to utilize the premises as a hostel facility for the newly established Shanahan University, Onitsha.
Igwe Etusi emphasized that, “At no time did I,or any representative of mine,enter into any agreement with any tenant suggesting that the duration of tenancy would confer ownership rights or any authority to assume power of attorney in matters concerning the property”
The traditional ruler informed the general public that,”For the avoidance of doubt”,he has retained the professional services of Sir Barrister Azubike Anazor (KSJI) of No.23 Idu Emeka Drive,Federal Housing Estate,Onitsha,as Estate Manager responsible for all matters relating to the management and administration of the said property.
