The Catholic community of St. Alphonsus Parish Nkpor Uno felicitated the Archbishop of Onitsha, His Grace, Most Rev. Valerian Okeke, on his 72nd birthday anniversary during his pastoral visit to the parish on Sunday, October 26, 2025.
In an address presented to the chief shepherd, the Catholic community extolled the Archbishop for his giant strides in Onitsha Archdiocese, describing him as a lovely prelate who is developing their immediate society through his life-transforming projects.
The Vicar General of the Archdiocese of Onitsha, Rev. Fr. John Bosco Okafor, represented the Archbishop at the event and commended the Catholic community for their good hearts, urging them to remain committed to their faith.
The Parish Priest, Fr. Peter Okoli, expressed gratitude to the Archbishop for his fatherly love and thanked the parishioners for their cooperation and support.
The Chairman of the Pastoral Visit Committee, Mr. John Ikechukwu Ofor, expressed great joy over the event, asserting that the visit of the chief shepherd would attract new blessings to the parish.
The Parish CWO President, Mrs. Obey Ndukwe, noted that the prelate’s presence had strengthened their faith, renewed love, peace, and progress in the Catholic community. She also extolled the parish priest for his selflessness and humility.
Over 100 candidates received the sacrament of confirmation during the Holy Mass.
