Dr. Nonye Soludo, the wife of the Anambra State Governor, has called on all eligible residents to take part in the ongoing Continuous Voter Registration (CVR) exercise to ensure they are able to vote in the upcoming November 8 gubernatorial election.
In a statement released on Tuesday, Dr. Soludo emphasized that the voter registration process is a vital step for citizens to obtain or update their Permanent Voter Cards (PVCs), which are necessary to participate in the democratic process.
“The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) has officially commenced the much anticipated Continuous Voter Registration for all eligible categories of voters in Anambra,” she said.
The registration exercise, which runs daily from 9:00 AM to 3:00 PM, including weekends, will end on July 17.
Dr. Soludo explained that the CVR is open to: Individuals registering for the first time, those who have relocated and need to update their details, people who lost or damaged their PVCs and voters who have yet to collect their cards.
Encouraging residents to take advantage of the opportunity, she described it as a “great window” to secure their right to vote.
“Don’t let this opportunity pass you by. If you are eligible and reside in Anambra State, take action. This is your right and your responsibility,” she urged.
She added, “Your PVC is the only legitimate means to express your political will and shape the future leadership of the State. Without it, your voice cannot translate into real impact.”
Dr. Soludo concluded her appeal with a strong call to action: “Don’t disenfranchise yourself. Make the time. Get that PVC.”
