The Action Alliance (AA) gubernatorial candidate for the 2025 Anambra election, Ozo Chief Japhet Nweke, has declared that his administration will prioritize the welfare of the common man if elected as the next governor of Anambra State. Chief Nweke made this declaration during a town meeting convened by Action Alliance stakeholders in Awka, Anambra State.
He expressed dismay at the way the common man is often relegated to the background and pledged to address this issue with a paradigm shift in his administration. Chief Nweke also promised to provide quality infrastructure, education, and top-notch security of lives and property in the state.
The gubernatorial candidate condemned the culture of praising corruption and indecency, which he believes is responsible for the country’s economic woes. He emphasized that he has no godfather and that every state fund would be used judiciously, with no obligation to repay anyone after the election.
“I am here for change and nothing less,” he stated.
Chief Nweke’s candidacy has received support from various quarters. Comrade Chijioke Onyeka, the Action Alliance candidate for the Anambra South senatorial seat, described Chief Nweke as the right candidate for the governorship seat, noting that it is the turn of Awka town to produce the next governor of Anambra State.
Other supporters, including Youth Leader Tochukwu Nwokoye, Mrs. Patricia Anene representing Anambra Women in Politics, and Mrs. Joy Ngonadi representing Awka South rural women, praised Chief Nweke’s character and commitment to the welfare of the masses.
The Hausa and Yoruba communities in Awka also threw their weight behind Chief Nweke’s candidacy, testifying to his caring nature and commitment to the well-being of all.
