Deputy Chief Servant of the Association of Catholic Trained Evangelizers in Nigeria (ACTEN), Catholic Diocese of Zaria, Evang Nathan Negedu, has called on members to live a life of positive impact, as a way of reaching the world for Christ.
The leader who gave the word of exhortation at the group’s Diocesan Evangelization Fellowship at St John’s Parish Muchia Zaria, Sunday, June 15, 2025, reflected on ‘Unity in the Body of Christ, Especially among Evangelizers,’ in reminding them that God did not make them to leave their hometowns for their businesses, careers and other endeavours alone, but that they may also carry His message and work along.
“We are not here for business alone.” He told them. “God has already located and planned for you to be here. Our being here is already a mission. Live a life that measures up to the standard of life that the Lord has set. Be tolerant with one another. Do your best to preserve that unity that God expects of us. Let us show concern for one another. Let us work together as evangelizers.”
“The impact you make on peoples’ life depends how you will be recognized. Such impact may not the money you give them. It may be how you care for them. We need to love one another. Do not love for the sake of money. Even if you do not love someone as a person, ask for the grace to love them for the sake of God. We must find ways to love one another.”
Contributors at the fellowship highlighted issues of abuse of ministries in the Church and deviating from the teachings of the Church. As a way out, members were reminded of the basis of their calling, as agents of evangelization. They were encouraged to examine themselves for possible redress, if they are among those derailing, so that they may make a U-Turn.
