In it’s avowed charitable mission to better the lives of the less privileged,the knights and ladies of St Mulumba,Onitsha Subcouncil on Sunday,doled out food items and other gifts to the less privileged within their catchment area.
The Grand Knight of the Subcouncil Sir (Barr) Morris Efobi while addressing the beneficiaries said the season of the birth of Jesus Christ was the period of expression of love and giving to the less privileged.
He said that the Onitsha Subcouncil had maintained it’s yearly charity works and will continue to do so.
Efobi urged them to remain hopeful and believe that their condition would change for the better.
In her remarks,the President of LSM,Onitsha Subcouncil,Lady Ngozi Oputa enjoined the beneficiaries to manage whatever they had for the Christmas and avoid being extravagant as they have tomorrow to live.
Prominent members of the Subcouncil at the event include,the former Grand Knight,Engr Ikem Osanakpo,Sir Chief T O Chiegboka,Engr Uko Akpulu,Sir Enebeli Osanakpo and Sir Jasper Okpalafuluaku.
Others are,Sir Gerald Ikemelu,Sir Vitalis Ewelike,Lady Nonye Osanakpo,Sir and Lady Professor Obunadike among others.
The event started with a thanksgiving mass at the Basilica.
