The Chief Shepherd of Onitsha Archdiocese, His Grace Most Rev Valerian Okeke last Sunday, November 10th 2024, paid a pastoral visit to All Saints Parish Nkpor.
In his Homily, Archbishop Okeke who was represented by the chancellor Very Rev. Fr. Prudentus Aroh challenged Christians to prioritize giving their best to God, rather than offering leftovers. He emphasized the importance of generous and intentional giving.
Citing biblical examples, the prelate referenced Luke 21:1-4 (The widow’s offering) and highlighted the dangers of giving leftovers to God, explaining that giving leftovers can indicate a lack of genuine commitment to God.
” Consider your offerings as an act of worship.
and reflect God’s generosity through your giving. Trust that God will provide and multiply your resources.”
The Catholic community in an address shortly after the Mass , extolled the Archbishop over his visit. They also highlighted their recent achievements, commending their Parish priest Very Rev Fr Aloysius Ikekwe for his efforts and sacrifices.
The parish priest Fr Ikekwe in his remarks expressed unalloyed gratitude to Archbishop for visiting. He thanked the Parishioners for the their commitment and show of faith
The vice chairman Parish council Mr Vincent Mary Atuora described the event as faith boost, urging fellow Parishioners to remain committed in their faith.
The parish CWO president Mrs. Chinenye Adibe who spoke to the press said they are elated to receive the Archbishop, describing his visit as blessing to the Catholic community.
Also, the Parish CMO chairman Mr. Charles Opia, thanked the prelate for visiting, advising fellow Parishioners not to compromise their faith, since Christianity is not a scam.
Mr Ezenwa Cyril , chairman 2024 pastoral visit committee and Tobias Ihedioramma Okere in their similar remarks rained accolades on the Archbishop.
