Not less than 250 people from Idemili North and South federal constituency on Thursday, November 7th , smiled home with empowerment packages including grinding and sewing machines, POS machines, electric clippers and grants for establishing scale industry and business as the federal house member Hon. Uche Harris Okonkwo representing the said constituency empowered his constituents.

Speaking shortly before distribution of the empowerment packages, Hon Uche Okonkwo who was represented by his personal assistant, Ikechukwu Okafor said the empowerment packages are part of his on going efforts to ensure that everyone in his constituency has something doing to earn living.

Stating that his representation won’t stop at lawmaking, he pledged to continue his transformative legislation that has started changing the face of Idemili North and South federal constituency and as well touching lives, stating that he will stop at nothing to see that his people get their fair share from the federal government.

The vice chairman Labour Party, Anambra state, Hon. Emma Ekwueme in his remarks expressed unalloyed gratitude to the lawmaker for the great gestures to his constituents, stating that Hon.Okonkwo is setting the pace in terms of community transformation, urging other political office holders to emulate him.

Also, the women leader Hon Uche Okonkwo campaign organization and her deputy Chief Mrs Ogochukwu Ejiofor and Hon. Eriobu Kosiso respectively lauded the legislator for keeping to his words, disclosing that since assumption of office, Hon Okonkwo has been rolling out empowerment packages, touching lives, building roads, installing solar lights in different communities and markets within Idemili.

Elder Charles Ifeanyi Obi in his contribution described the lawmaker as a humble, caring and charitable man who loved the people of his constituency . He disclosed that as the empowerment programme was on same day, youth were being trained in two communities , Nnokwa and Eziowelle, courtesy of Hon Uche.

Some of the beneficiaries of the empowerment packages which included Justina Uyienu, who got a grinder, Obianuju Ezenwekwe who received sewing machine and Arinzechukwu Okafor who got a POS machine in their separate remarks expressed profound gratitude to the legislator, stating that the empowerment packages will help them get established and say goodbye to joblessness. They happily endorsed him for second term, testifying that they are lucky to have him as their representative.

Trinitas Newspaper learnt that since assumption of his office last year, Hon. Harris Uche Okonkwo embarked on massive transformative programmes that have brought physical changes in Idemili North and South.

Within few months in office, he renovated two secondary schools – one in Abatete and the other at Aguma village Obosi. He has installed solar- powered lights in different communities and markets in Idemili. He has trained Youths in Solar energy production, and empowered them with grants. On February 23, 2024, he purchased JAMB for over 200 students. He has attracted road constructions in some communities and he is currently building a five -classroom – block at United primary school Nkpor . Few months back, Hon Uche empowered over 200 youths of Idemili with N100,000 grant for each. Outside these, Hon Uche Okonkwo has moved good number of motions in the house, that will assist greatly in transforming his constituency and beyond when signed into law.
