The Parish Priest of S.S John and Paul lba Pope Awada, Very Rev.Fr. Victor Mbanisi, the laity council chairman, Bro. Jude Osuala and his lieutenants have successfully ended a five -day annual couple seminar, with a call on husbands and wives to love each other dearly as demanded by God. The event which was held at the Parish hall attracted husbands and wives from different Christian denominations and featured important lectures about family life and health related issues.
One of the resource persons who delivered lectures at the occasion, Mr Polycarp Onwuka dwelt extensively on the do’s and don’ts of married life, emphasizing love, understanding and tolerance as the fundamentals of marriage. He repeatedly underscored the importance of love as an indispensable factor for a successful marriage. The 2024 couple seminar with the theme, “the beauty of married love, thrilled the participants greatly and enhanced their faith in the union.
One of the participants and a community leader from lmo state, Chief Timothy Tasie expressed happiness for the marriage seminar and advised other christian churches to emulate the catholic example of educating married people especially these days divorce and family conflict among husbands and wives are on the increase. He commended the initiative of the Parish Priest of S.S John and Paul lba Pope Awada Rev. Fr. Mbanisi to this effect.
Commenting on the marriage seminar, one of the organisers of the event and the planning committee chairman for the 2024 couple forum, Bro. Jonathan Agu revealed that the event was an annual seminar used by the Parish to educate married people on the fundamentals of marriage. He commended the support t Fr. Mbanisi was giving them annually for the ceremony. Most of the participants expressed joy and appreciation for the lesson they learnt at the seminar, including the health lectures of a consultant Orthopaedic, Dr.lsaac Okpalachukwu who delivered lectures on many aspects of human anatomy, warning couple who smoke and drink alcohol on the implications to their health condition. Cutting of the seminar cake and light refreshment added glamour to the event.
