In a follow-up to the corporate retreat aimed at building capacity of staff of the Borromeo Specialist Hospital ,Onitsha,100 staff of hospital who participated in the two-day Corporate Retreat have been presented with certificates of participation to buoy their morale and productivity.
The Chief Executive Officer (CEO)of the hospital,Very Rev Fr Dr Izunna Okonkwo disclosed this to Trinitas shortly after the retreat.
Fr Izunna reiterated the need for the hospital workers to be upbeat in modern dynamics of health care delivery which is necessary for efficient running of the hospital.He said it was the reason the package of the retreated captured among other topics in it’s theme,office politics, it’s management,stress management in work places,emotional intelligence and it’s application.
Fr Izunna listed some of the management team of the hospital who participated in the seminar/retreat.
They include himself( Fr Izunna Okonkwo(CEO),the Director of Administration,Mrs Eucharist Okeke,the Head of Nursing Services,Mrs Joy Osunkwo,Chaplain of the hospital Rev Fr Boniface Okafor and the hospital Accountant,Mrs Chinese Okafor.
It would be recalled that resource persons from the Centre for Ethics and Self Value Orientation namely,Dr Haruna Sheidu Abdulkarim and Dr Olayemi Olufemi Ifatimehin are university dons who have garnered many years of experience in their fields of studies.
The resource persons in their various remarks commended the Borromeo hospital management for efficient running of the hospital and also hailed the proprietor,the Archbishop of Onitsha,Most Rev Valerian Okeke for attracting modern equipments and expertise to the hospital thus making it a first class hospital in the country.
