The senator representing Anambra central senatorial district Senator Victor Umeh on Thursday, described the Archbishop of Onitsha His Grace Most Rev Valerian Okeke as christian humanist who has not relented in giving life to our immediate society.
The Senator made the remark, while fielding questions from the press during 70th birthday celebration staged for the Archbishop by the Archdiocese of Onitsha.
The Archbishop he said has sense of justice and doesn’t allow injustice to prevail whereever he is in control.” He is fair to everyone and he is lavishing his love on everyone irrespective age, race, colour, class etc.
Sent Umeh further rained accolades on Archbishop’s prison apostolate, describing it as second to none. He disclosed that currently, some inmates at Onitsha correctional centre are taking Senior school certificate examination courtesy of the Archbishop. “In addition to this, he recently built, equipped and handed over a multimillion naira skill acquisition center to Nigeria correctional centre, a humanitarian act that is unprecedented in the history of Nigeria”.
“As we celebrate Archbishop Val Okeke at 70, we are setting another target of 10 years for him when he will clock 80 and after then, we shall set another target of years for him,
praying the good Lord to continue to keep him sound and strong for many years to come.”
