The traditional ruler of Obosi kingdom HRH Igwe Chidubem 3rd has requested the Chief Shepherd of Onitsha His Grace Most Rev Valerian Okeke to visit and pray at the new site where he is erecting a church building singlehandedly.
The traditional ruler made the request while welcoming the Chief Shepherd during dedication of St Michael’s church, Iba Pope, Awada.
He expressed great hope that once Archbishop steps his foot on the uncompleted church building site, the completion would be like a miracle. He also thanked the Archbishop for guiding him spiritually when he had a dream of building a church.
The monarch on the other hand attributed rapid development recorded in his community to the miracle of God.
Igwe Obosi who has been in the forefront in championing end to sell and distribution of illicit drugs and other criminal activities in Obosi said in an interview that God was part of his administration alongside members of his cabinet who are committed in working with him to achieve greatness for the community.
He further commended the Catholic Church for assisting in attracting development to the Community.
Igwe Iweka urged inhabitants and businesss operators in the area to feel free while they obey the laws and culture of the land.
Earlier, Archbishop Okeke who presided over the Church dedication ceremony preached on giving to God through assistance to the needy and the church.
Also in an interview with Trinitas, the Parish Priest, St. Michael De Archangel Catholic Church, Awada, Obosi, Rev. Fr. Kenneth Anuna who expressed joy at the successful event said that the dedication has opened doors for renewed evangelization by parishioners.
He commended the parishioners and all those that contributed to the construction of the new church and urged them to remain steadfast in the work of God.
President- General, Obosi urban, Chief Emeka Asimonye as member of the Church Building Committee disclosed that a lot of challenges were faced during the building stage which he noted were later surmounted.
Chief Asimonye affirmed the contribution of Catholic Church in attracting development to the area and commended the Archbishop, Most Rev. Okeke and the Parish Priest, Fr. Anuna for engineering the process of the church building and its dedication.
