United States Vice President J.D. Vance has spoken about his journey into the Catholic Church, describing it as the result of a period of deep personal reflection and “soul searching” that ultimately led him to embrace Catholicism.
Speaking in a recent interview, Vance said his decision to convert was not sudden but followed years of questioning, reflection on faith, and a growing desire for spiritual grounding. He explained that through this process, he gradually felt drawn to the Catholic Church and its teachings.
The Vice President noted that what stood out most to him was a sense of spiritual belonging when he encountered Catholic worship and doctrine. He described this experience by saying he “felt at home” within the Church, emphasizing that the faith provided clarity, structure, and meaning during an important phase of his life.
Vance also reflected on the role of faith in public life, suggesting that spiritual convictions can offer moral direction in leadership and personal decision-making. He highlighted the importance of religious identity in shaping values such as service, responsibility, and humility.
