Christians have been told to channel their time and energy wisely. Reflecting on the temptation of Jesus, the Chief Shepherd of the Catholic Diocese of Zaria, Most Rev. Dr. Habila Tyiakonaboi Daboh charged his flock to emulate Jesus, who though had the power to turn stone, and even Satan himself into bread, chose not to yield to the temptation to prove Himself as the Son of God.
The bishop who intimated that the tempter came at the time he knew Jesus was hungry, remarked that many people fall prey to his traps at their low moments and challenging times. He however encouraged them to always shun to temptation for temporary pleasure and possession, so as to remain focused on heaven, their final destination.
He also cited that Jesus made the bind to see; brought the dead to life; walked on the water; fed the multitudes; and performed many other miracles, but when He was asked to descend from the Cross to prove Himself, He did not yield to such demand, knowing what His mission was.
Bishop Daboh implored the faithful to forgive their offenders as Jesus forgave His executors. He discouraged them from resorting to revenge, even as he tasked them to spend their time and energy on things that are worthwhile, as well as those that are profitable to their spiritual journey.
