The Governor of Anambra, Prof. Chukwuma Soludo has refuted claims by a publication online, that Anambra State under his leadership is seeking to borrow two hundred and forty-five-billion-naira.
Prof. Soludo made this known while responding to questions from the media shortly after a statewide broadcast on Anambra’s thirty-third anniversary celebration at the Governor’s Lodge, Amawbia.
He described the news as fake, stressing that his administration is not aware and has no plan to borrow funds for now.
While stressing that borrowing in itself is not bad, he emphasized that his government has a narrow and stringent criteria about borrowing.
Governor Soludo recalled that even though the State House of Assembly approved for his administration to borrow one hundred billion naira since 2022, his government has not borrowed one kobo yet.
According to him, his administration has been working on projects that would be bankable and that his government will not borrow for consumption.

Soludo Speaks Tough Against Child Abuse

The Anambra State Governor, Professor Chukwuma Soludo has reiterated his administration’s resolve to ending child abuse in the State.
This he made known after the nurse who allegedly used heated laundry iron on her nephew was apprehended by the Police.
Professor Soludo who spoke through the State Commissioner for Women Affairs and Social Welfare, Chief Mrs. Ify Obinabo decried the high rate of child abuse in the State, despite the efforts to bring it to the barest minimum and assured that anyone caught involved in such act will not go unpunished.
The Governor went further to thank Ndi Anambra for always bringing such dastardly act to the attention of the State government and stated that his government will not relent until child abuse is ended in Anambra.
As at the time of this report, the thirteen-year-old survivor has been taken to the hospital for medical attention.

Anambra @ 33 : More Stakeholders Commend Level Of Growth, Development

The National Coordinator of the Soludo Support Group, Chief Chinedu Nwoye, has stated that at thirty-three, Anambra is making steady progress in human and infrastructural development.
Speaking in an interview with newsmen in Awka on the thirty-third anniversary of the State’s creation, Chief Nwoye who commended the founding fathers, military administrators, and civilian governors for their contributions to the State’s development, maintained that series of developments have been recorded in Anambra, thirty-three years after its creation on the twenty-seventh August 1991.
Chief Nwoye, who is the Deputy Chief of Staff to Governor Chukwuma Soludo and Anambra State Director of Protocol, acknowledged the efforts of past leaders in infrastructural development and noted that the current administration has witnessed tremendous developments across all sectors, particularly in Awka, the state capital.
He attributed the progress to Governor Soludo’s Road infrastructure projects, which have opened up the hinterlands and boosted businesses, leading to improved internally generated revenue and described the Governor as a leader with the people’s interest at heart.
The National Coordinator used the opportunity to call on the people of Anambra State to continue with their support and prayers to Prof. Soludo and his team for the enhanced development of the State.
Contributing, the Coordinator of the Soludo Support Group in Anambra Central Senatorial District, Chief Obi Ochije Modilim, also expressed satisfaction with the development in Awka, under the Soludo administration and described the thirty-third anniversary of the State as one that calls for sober reflection.
Chief Modilim commended the Governor for remembering Awka in terms of infrastructural development and political appointments, assuring him of the continuous support and prayers of the people of Awka to his administration.
Chief Modilim, a major stakeholder in the All-Progressives Grand Alliance, APGA, noted that the Governor is building a befitting Government House and lodge in Awka, among other infrastructural projects and assured the Governor of the continuous support and prayers of the people of Awka.
While wishing the government and people of Anambra State a remarkable thirty-third anniversary, Chief Modilim urged the people to desist from acts capable of retarding the pace of development across the State.
