A front-line governorship aspirant in Anambra state on the platform of All Progressive Congress (APC), Sir Paul Chukwuma,
has unveiled strategies to help address the spate of insecurity in Anambra State using community intelligence gathering and jobs creation.
Sir Chukwuma who disclosed this to journalists in his country-home, Umueri, Anambra East Local Government Area (LGA), on Saturday, November 23,2024, explained that his administration would apply all the extant laws on security, including empowering the local vigilante, police and other law enforcement agents to work harmoniously for restoration of peace and order.
According to him, “I will use instrumentality of the law to look inward and bring insecurity to an end in Anambra State. We have vigilante law. To what extent have we implemented that law? I will work with all the stakeholders and functionaries recognised by the state to ensure that community intelligence system works.
“My administration will adopt a holistic approach in crimes fighting. We will create jobs to curb unemployment. We must be firm, just and ensure equitable distribution of resources. We must shun evidence of nepotism. We will ensure food security, implement minimum wage that is acceptable. We will make good policies to encourage ease of doing business,” he added.
He regretted that Anambra state is currently engulfed in insecurity, especially kidnapping and killings, which according to him, was equally scaring away local and foreign investors amidst heavy taxation and high cost of living.
He said, “Our agenda is tripod. Human capital development, security and infrastructure. I have many investments in Anambra. As an investor, who is still investing in Anambra State, l intend to change the political and economic status of Anambra State.
