As St. Charles Borromeo Specialist Hospital, Onitsha in Anambra State continues to  render services to humanity, no fewer than 40 Patients recently benefited fromfree Surgery and free treatments during the Ear, Nose and Throat (ENT) Surgery Medical Mission held in the Hospital.

The Medical Mission which had been going on in the Hospital over the years was said to be sponsored by African Humanitarian Foundation, which was founded by a Hungarian Medical Doctor, Dr. Reka Fodor.

Briefing newsmen in his office recently, the Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of St. Charles Borromeo Specialist Hospital Onitsha, Very Rev. Fr. Dr. Izunna Okonkwo highlighted that 4 trained Hungarian Medical Missionaries led by Dr. Zsolt attended to over 300 patients who came from various parts of the Country for the medical outreach.

He explained that during the screening process, so many people were diagnosed of surgical ailments which he said eventually led to the ENT doctor operating on more than 40 Patients.

” To the glory of God, all those Surgeries were 100% successful. There was no complications and many of them were discharged within a record time. Apart from those who already received Surgery from the hands of the doctors, we also have another 35 patients who are waiting for their own Surgery when the doctors come back next year”

” All these patients received free Surgery. Some of them were required to pay a little token for drugs and hospitalization/services, Said Fr. Izunna.

The clergy however, noted that the Hungarian doctors gave every assurance that they will come back next year to start from where they stopped, even as he said that when the doctors were about to go, so many people who heard the good news on how so many people were   healed on their Ear, Nose, and Throat illness, started trooping to their Hospital.

He expressed gratitude to God for the successful medical exercise, and once gain appreciated AFREKA Humanitarian Foundation who he said facilitated the outreach, informing the general public that another outreach will be coming again next year.

Fr. Eze Udo, as he is fondly called, recalled that not quite long ago Dr. Reka Fodor, who is in their out Patients clinic with her medical team attended to over 400 patients, saying that she as well replicated the same in the recent concluded Medical outreach.

He, also appreciated Archbishop Valerian Okeke, who he said is the proprietor of St. Charles Borromeo Specialist Hospital Onitsha for his magnanimity and foresightness, through which all the professionals in various Medical field regularly come to assist so many people who are undergoing difficulties due to lack of funds.

He unequivocally stated that as far as human beings are concerned, they attend and give equal services and treatment to any patients who is admitted in their Health care facilities, pointing out that they do not discriminate between gender, races or Church/Religious affiliation.
