The Parish Priest of Our Lady Queen Of Peace Catholic Church Fegge and the entire parishioners have successfully established music Academy aimed at harnessing the musical talents of the youths in the area. The music Academy which was recently launched in the parish attracted known dignitaries from different walks of Life, including politicians from the Anambra state house of assemble.
Speaking at the launching ceremony, the member representing Onitsha South 1 constituency in the Anambra state house of assembly, Hon. Fred Ezenwa expressed appreciation for the establishment of the music Academy which he noted would help in no small measure in fishing out the musical talents of the youths in the state. The legislator used the opportunity to appeal to government agencies and other public spirited individuals to follow the example of the Catholic church in setting up such vocations acquisition center aimed at reducing youth unemployment in the country.
Hon. Fred Ezenwa who becomes a member of the Anambra state house of assembly though the labour party platform commended the Parish Priest of the church and his council for the establishment of the music skill acquisition Center and urged those youths with the musical talents to avail themselves with the opportunity.
Also, speaking at the occasion, the President emeritus of the Catholic women organisation of the church, Lady Chinwe Muonwe described the establishment of the music Academy as a landmark achievement which the youths who have the musical talents should exploit. Others who expressed happiness for the establishment of the music Academy included a youth leader from Umuanyiba Ufuma in Anambra state., Bro. Chinonso and Malachy Oranusi.
The youth leader Mazi Chinonso Malachy Oranusi explained that the establishment of the music Academy at the Catholic church will not be limited to music alone. He expressed the hope that the church will in future set up other skill acquisition Center in the area such as computer training amongst other vocations. He appealed to the government and public spirited individuals to follow the example.
