The Onitsha Archdiocesan Catholic Men Organisation (CMO) on Friday October 13,2023,hosted members of the Onitsha Provincial Catholic Men Organisation (CMO)at the Basilica of the Most Holy Trinity,Onitsha.
Members/delegates of the Onitsha Provincial CMO,were drawn from various dioceses under the Province namely,Onitsha Archdiocese,dioceses of Abakaliki,Awka,Awgu and Aguleri.Other dioceses under the Province are,Enugu,Ekwulobia and Nsukka.
The meeting started with a holy mass inside the Basilica where the chaplain of Onitsha Archdiocesan CMO Very Rev Fr Sampson Ogbuebuna held brief for Archbishop Valerian Okeke while the Onitsha Provincial Chaplain of the CMO Very Rev Fr Aloysius Ikekwe assisted.
In a homily delivered by Rev Fr Sampson Ogbuebuna,he said that all efforts,meetings and decisions of the CMO were steps towards eternal life.
Fr Ogbuebuna charged Catholic father’s to deliver themselves from the demon of selfishness, neopaganism and worshipping of false gods.
He reminded fathers that it was their duty to reawaken the conciousness of all the CMO members across the dioceses to uphold the ideals and objective set to improve on the duties of the CMO in evangelization so that the gate of of hell will not destroy humanity.
Later while receiving the delegates,the Onitsha CMO Provincial President Hon Casmir Obiesie Izukanne who doubles as the Secretary General of CMO, Archdiocese of Onitsha,thanked all the members who travelled from very long distances to attend the meeting.He also said that all efforts were being put in place to reposition the Onitsha Provincial CMO for effective coordination and improvement of activities of CMO in Onitsha Province.
Hon Casmir also delivered the gratitude of the President General of CMO Archdiocese of Onitsha,Sir Evarist Uba who was unavoidably absent absent.According to Hon Casmir,Sir Uba did not only make a comfortable arrangement for the meeting but saw to their welfare.
Hon Sir Evarist Uba he said,also sent his message of gratitude to the Archbishop for presiding over the meeting.
A member of the organisation Hon Ezeonu delivered a talk on how to use local herb to cure toothache.
