The Onitsha Archdiocesan Catholic Charismatics Renewal (CCRN) during the week ended a 21 day prayer crusade where they prayed for peace to reign in the country over some security challenges across the country.
The event which attracted over 700 new members to their fold began with a concelebrated mass where the Onitsha Archdiocesan chaplain of the movement,Very Rev Fr Sampson Ogbuebuna was the Chief Celebrant.
In his homily,Very Rev Fr Dr Dominic Obielosi,told the congregation to be good followers of their leaders and also to the leaders to be exemplary in their leadership.
He identified jealousy as the basis of several worries of humans and also pointed out that such jealousy situations are rooted in work places,romantic and sexual relations,families and businesses.
Fr Obielosi also cautioned Christians on the need for them to distance themselves from idol worshipping which is making a gradual come back to the society.
Earlier in his remarks,the Onitsha Archdiocesan Chaplain of CCRN,Very Rev Fr Sampson Ogbuebuna,welcomed the entire members and the new ones who came to surrender their lives to God.
He urged them them to pray feverently to attract favours from God and to the new converts to join the prayer battle with zeal and dedication.
One of the resource persons and a priest of Isselle-Uku Diocese,Rev Fr Collins Ukpaka had offered special prayers at Iyiowa Region for God to neutralize the demonic powers over the land and rivers on the region for people of God to realise their full spiritual and material potentials.
In their seperate remarks,the Onitsha Archdiocesan CCRN chairman Bro Peter Nnalue and the Chairman of the Programmes Committee,Bro JohnPaul Ike,urged the new ministers to gird their loins and be ready to fight against modern paganism.He also thanked the Governor of Anambra State for rebuilding a road leading to the CCRN ministry linking Nkpor-Umuoji-Obosi roads.
They commended the Archbishop of Onitsha,Most Rev Valerian Okeke for all his developmental strides in the Archdiocese particularly the new Shanahan University,Onitsha.
Highlight on the event was special prayers for peace to continue to reign in the country over challenges of insecurity and induction of the new members.
