St. Theresa Parish Priest, Rev. Fr. Cletus Enwefah, Ubeji in Warri South Local Government Area of Delta State has maintained that tragic killing of Priests will not deter men of God from spreading the unwavering truths of the Gospel.
The Cleric stated this in a sermon to commemorate 2023 Mission Sunday, a global event in the Catholic Calendar, dedicated to the dissemination of Christ’s teachings.
He highlighted a staggering statistic, revealing that over 300 Catholic Clergies had faced various forms of assault, including abductions and fatalities since 2022.
The Cleric underscored the perilous state in which Catholic Priests and Nuns found themselves in Nigeria, with many falling victim to ruthless attacks and kidnappings, perpetrated by herdsmen and terrorists.
He urged all Christians to continue preaching the gospel of truth, even amidst trials and tribulations.
Fr. Enwefah urged them to deliver the good news, not merely Christians, but as bearers of grace.
The Cleric further asserted that the persistent targeting of Christian Clerics was not only condemnable, but morally repugnant, emphasising that no human life should be taken by another, regardless of their positions.
