As anticipation builds for their IBF heavyweight world title clash this weekend, Daniel Dubois has issued a stern warning to Anthony Joshua, claiming his goal is not just to knock out the former champion but to force him to quit.
The two fighters faced off on the banks of the River Thames on Monday, where Dubois made his intentions clear.
Speaking to Sky Sports, Dubois revealed that he plans to do more than simply overpower Joshua in the ring as he aims to dismantle him both physically and mentally.
“I’ve got to make him quit, break him down. That’s my mindset going into this,” Dubois said.
“Making him quit, breaking him. I believe I can.”
Dubois is determined to shake off the “quitter” label that has followed him since previous setbacks, despite recent victories over Jarrell Miller and Filip Hrgovic bolstering his reputation.
Now, with renewed focus, Dubois is eager to prove himself on one of the biggest stages of his career.
“I’m turning it around now at this stage of my career. I’ve come through my ups and downs, just turning it round,” he added.
Dubois, brimming with confidence ahead of the title bout, remained poised during the build-up, emphasizing that he’s ready for the challenge.
“Enjoy the moment, let all the talking be done, let all the statements be made. I’m in a good place right now and I’m ready to fight.”
The heavyweight showdown promises to be a thrilling contest, with both fighters looking to make a definitive statement in the ring.
