Ebonyi State Governor Francis Nwifuru has donated 14 new SUVs to newly ordained priests of the Abakaliki Diocese. The vehicles were presented during an ordination ceremony held at St. Theresa’s Catholic Cathedral in the state capital on Saturday.
Governor Nwifuru stated that the donation aims to support the priests in their spiritual work, enabling them to serve their communities more effectively and spread the word of God. This gesture continues the governor’s tradition of supporting the religious community in Ebonyi State. Last July, he similarly gifted five vehicles to newly ordained priests.
During the presentation, Governor Nwifuru encouraged the newly ordained priests to dedicate themselves to their ministry and avoid distractions. He humorously noted that the pursuit of material possessions should be left to laypeople like himself, while the priests should focus on their mission of winning souls for God.
