In a statement issued on Sunday in Makurdi by his Chief Press Secretary, Mr. Tersoo Kula, Governor Hyacinth Alia of Benue expressed strong condemnation of the unprovoked attack on Akpuuna village in Mbaterem, Ukum Local Government Area. Suspected hoodlums carried out the attack, resulting in the tragic loss of lives.
Governor Alia was deeply shocked upon hearing the news of the attack and expressed his heartfelt sorrow for the innocent residents who were mercilessly attacked and killed for no justifiable reason. He described the incident as a heinous crime and a grave offense against both God and humanity.
The governor called upon the security agencies to apprehend the individuals responsible for this heinous act and ensure they face the full force of the law. He extended his condolences to the families who lost their loved ones in the attack and prayed for God’s comfort to be with them during this difficult time.
Governor Alia appealed for calm and advised the people of Sankera to provide security agencies with any valuable information that could assist in addressing the prevailing insecurity in the area. The statement emphasized the importance of collaborative efforts to combat insecurity and restore peace to the region. (NAN)
